A typical night on the beach
ATV
Each night during the months of March-June, researchers from the Loggerhead Marinelife Center patrol the beach from dusk to dawn looking for endangered leatherback sea turtles. Turtles are encountered on a 18.2 kilometer section of beach stretching from the Lake Worth Inlet north to the Jupiter Inlet.

When a turtle is encountered; she is measured, tagged and checked for injuries.
Measure

Each season a few leatherback are chosen to track their movements. Satellite transmitters are attached to the turtle using a specially designed harness.
