It has now been 50 days since we attached a small tracking device to a leatherback named Katia on Jupiter Island, Florida. Since leaving the beach on 6/10/2015, Katia has traveled more than 1,900 kilometers and is now located off the outer banks of North Carolina about 1,000 kilometers from the Jupiter Inlet in Florida.
