One of our volunteers, Valerie, was recently honored by the Jupiter Island Public Safety Department for her role in apprehending a group of illegal immigrants that landed on the beach at Jupiter Island while she was surveying. She spotted a boat on the beach and called the Jupiter Island police to investigate the situation. Since we work on the beach at night, we maintain close relationships with local law enforcement agencies. They assist us with any situations that we may encounter and we act as a second set of eyes for them while we’re on the beach.
Great job Valerie!
